*Al Cohn is usually credited as co-composer although he may have been responsible only for the famous shout chorus associated with most big band recordings of this blues line.

**This is a blues that pianist George Ziskind remembers as having been composed by Tiny Kahn. In 1982, saxophonist Don Lanphere added an 8-bar bridge and recorded the resulting AABA, 44-bar piece as "Who Wrote This Thing?" - see From Out of Nowhere, Hep LP 2019. In the liner notes, Lanphere states, "The blues is from a line written on a paper towel somebody once handed to me way back in the late forties."

***This line is probably better known as "Can't Take You Nowhere" with lyrics by Dave Frishberg.
